Lincoln Man Prisoned for Child Abuse

(7-29-14) A district judge on Friday gave a Lincoln man four to five years in prison on a child abuse charge.

Twenty three-year-old Anthony Souza was accused of throwing his child against a wall. He plead no contest to the felony child abuse charges.

Souza was arrested for child abuse after his 6-month-old boy suffered skull fractures in early December. Souza told police he accidentally dropped his boy on the floor, but doctors found three skull fractures and a brain bleed. They also discovered at least two breaks on the boy's arm which had healing.

Souza has a history of violence--he's on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry and he was court martialed from the Air Force for rape.
