Police Identify Man Killed By Train

LINCOLN -- Alcohol may have been a factor when a man was hit by a train in north Lincoln.  It was around 8pm Monday, when 56-year-old Paul Bellew was seen by the train engineer crossing the tracks near 35th and Adams.  The engineer sounded the horn to warn Bellew.  Police Officer Katie Flood says their report shows the engineer, though, saw Bellew made it over the tracks, however he apparently stumbled and fell back on the track.  She says the engineer hit the brakes, but it was too late.   Bellew was taken to a Lincoln hospital, where he was pronounced dead.   Flood says Bellew's death appears to be accidental.
