LPD Catch Would-Be Burglar on Brownell Roof

Lincoln Police arrest an 18-year-old man, who is accused of trying to break in to Brownell Elementary School at 60th and Aylesworth overnight.  Officer Katie Flood says a neighbor looked out the window just before 2am Wednesday and saw someone wearing dark clothes handling a flashlight on top of the roof.  Responding officers chased down and caught 18-year-old Alexander Thiel, who apparently had a screwdriver and flashlight on him.  Flood says there was damage on the roof, but it doesn't appear that Thiel didn't get inside and took anything.  He was arrested for attempted burglary, possession of burglar's tools and failure to comply.   It's unclear if Thiel was alone or had someone else with him.
