LINCOLN -- The City-County Planning Commission never got a chance to talk about, little lone vote, on a proposed development at 84th and Highway 2, which includes a huge multi-screen theater. Lincoln attorney, Mark Hunzeker, representing the developer, told commissioners the proposal was being withdrawn. The city has a policy on the books which limits theater complexes of more than 6 screens to downtown ONLY. Hunzeker told planners it shouldn't be the obligation of a single developer to overturn a city policy which is fundamentally wrong. That obligation, he said, should fall on elected officials.
