Police Investigating Rash of Storage Unit Burglaries

LINCOLN -- More than $21,000 in losses and $6,300 in damage from a rash of storage unit burglaries around Lincoln in the past month.   Of the ten locations, two of them were also hit in August.  Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says 43 units have been targeted since September 7th.  Break ins also happened between Friday and Monday either at Wilderness Self Storage near 13th and Yankee Hill Road, Cushman Drive Self Storage, South Street Storage or Advance Self Storage which is at 6101 Cornhusker.  Of the four locations, nearly $400 worth of items were stolen.   Flood says one way to protect yourself is document what you have in your storage unit and mark them with your initials or an identifiable serial number.
