LINCOLN -- Nebraskans are being encouraged to take advantage of this beautiful fall weather and plant some trees. These trees then will replace those lost to the drought and will enhance local communities. One group working on this project - ReTree Nebraska - who is planning a series of events across the state starting tomorrow to encourage tree planting. This comes after cities all across the state have pledged to plant roughly 1,000 new trees during events. The state's first lady Sally Ganem says trees are an important asset for the state's communities because of the shade and economic benefits they provide.
