Tax Reform Study To Take Place

LINCOLN -- Lawmakers are authorizing a study of Nebraska's tax climate. The expectation is to reform the system, but several senators are making it clear that changes won't necessarily mean tax cuts for everyone. Kearney Senator Galen Hadley, chair of the Revenue Committee, says lawmakers are looking to create tax policy that's fair, simple and stable, while helping Nebraska compete with other states. The study will also explore how to keep the system adequate to pay for essential state services.
