Economic Index Slips

LINCOLN -- A 2-point slip in the monthly economic index for nine Midwestand Plains states, including Nebraska. The Mid-America Business Conditions survey slipped to 56.8 in April...any indicator over 50 reflects potential economic growth. The confidence index rose to 59.9 last month. Creighton University economics professor, Ernie Goss, oversees the survey, and says supply managers expect the upturn in housing to remain an important ingredient of the economic expansion.
