Debate Continues Over Who Should Pay For Paving

LINCOLN -- After a good rain, streets around the People's City Mission are a muddy mess. Nearby businesses would have to chip in at least $90,000 each to help pay for the two blocks of paving. Shirley Whitney of Bob and Shirley's Towing told Lincoln City Council members there's a sidewalk homeless people can use so they don't have to get wet...but Joel Sartore of Lincoln thinks the city should pay for it. The council can force every property owner to pay their part. City ordinance and the location gives council members the authority. A decision may come at Monday's council meeting.
