State Senators Have To Make Decision On Medicaid Funding

LINCOLN -- Nebraska Lawmakers are having to cut services or make up another $8 million less in federal Medicaid funding. This comes on top of a $44 million decline in funding which state officials anticipated last year. Omaha Senator Heath Mello, chair of the state's budget-writing committee, says the reduction came as a surprise. Senator Mello says the committee will propose a series of cuts to different programs within Medicaid, spreading them out to reduce their impact.
