(8-19-14) Veterans and other community members have a chance next week to voice their opinions about the Veterans Affairs health care services.
The veterans' town hall will be in the auditorium of the Nebraska-Western Iowa clinic, located in Lincoln just south of 70th and O, at 9 a.m., on August 26.
Public Affairs Officer, Will Ackerman, said the town hall is designed to gain open and honest feedback about the health care system. He says that the Nebraska-Western Iowa clinic is proud of its care, estimating that 95% of its feedback is positive, but that there is always room for improvement, which the meeting will help facilitate.
Ackerman encourages anyone of the community to attend--either be prepared with questions or simply attend to learn more about the operations of Veterans Affairs health care services.
Robert A. McDonald was appointed in June as the new Secretary of Department of Veterans Affairs. Ackerman said McDonald ordered every clinic in the nation to hold a town hall meeting by the end of September.
Veterans will also be able to sign up for health care at the event. If you can't get there on Tuesday, Ackerman said you can submit your questions to the email address, firstname.lastname@example.org.
