Councilman Envisions Water Park In Northeast Lincoln

LINCOLN -- Sounds crazy talking about swimming on a day with single-digit windchills, but Tuesday on KFOR's Lincoln Live, City Council member Roy Christensen talked about building a water park in northeast Lincoln through a public-private partnership.  Christensen says  he sees an indoor-outdoor facility, with indoor swimming and aquatic activities year-round and the outdoor facility converted into an ice skating rink in the winter.   He says northeast Lincoln, some place close to the Havelock area, would be the desired location since it's close to Interstate 80. Christensen sees it happening as a public-private partnership rather than further burden the City Parks and Rec Department.  No formal plan has been put together at this time.
